Here's an extra special promotion you'd be an idiot not to participate in. Seriously, you'd have to be an utter moron to pass this one up. I mean, gosh, you don't even have to actually do anything and it makes you money by the boatload. Your friends will do all the work. That's right: you get paid and you don't have to do anything but help us spread the word about Con on the Cob.
Here's how it works: tell your friends about Con on the Cob, let them know what an awesome time you had last year (if you were there), and convince them to pre-register for the con this year. Tell them to register for the con then fill out the following survey and put your name in the Who Referred You? box. It's that simple. You get FIVE DOLLARS for every friend you refer. Refer 10 friends and get 50 bucks. Refer 100 friends and get 500 bucks. That's how easy it is.
What's that you say? You say you haven't been to Con on the Cob in the past but you want to participate anyway... Sure, no problem. It doesn't matter. As long as you are registered for CotC 2008 it's all good.
Everyone who pre-registers for CotC 2008 and fills out the survey, whether or not they've been to CotC before, will be entered in a drawing to win a free registration to Con on the Cob 2009! See, I told you it was easy. The survey is for our own use and will not be sold or given to anybody else. I promise.

Reserve your hotel room (at the Holiday Inn) by August 1st and you'll be entered into a drawing to win TWO FREE NIGHTS!!! Not only that, you get entered into the contest once for each day you have your room reserved. For example, if you reserve a room for Friday and Saturday night you will be entered into the contest twice. Reserve a room for Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday and you'll be entered into the drawing FIVE TIMES!!! The more room nights you reserve the better your chances of getting two of them for FREE.
Not only that, the first twenty people to reserve a room will be entered into a seperate drawing for a chance to win a top secret, extra special, mum's-the-word grand prize.

 A Con on the Cob tradition, the Get-In-Free Contest is amazing simple, yet hideously complex. How it works is this: you write an essay explaining why we should let you in for free. Post your essay to THIS THREAD in the Con on the Cob Discussion Forum.
Your essay can be as long or as short as you want. It can be completely true or a blatant lie. Non-fiction, historical fiction, science fiction, science fact, actual fact, crime drama, whatever you want; it's all good (as long as it explains why we should let you in free). Enter as often as you want. Whoever writes our favorite essay gets in free, just like the name says.
If you pre-register for Con on the Cob and then win the Get-In-Free Contest you will have the option of having your registratoin fee refunded or choosing free registration for next year. It's up to you.
